Tales from Nowhere

A Widows Lament

I knew love once
like summer rain
Warm like the stars
on moonlit night
Oh lonely heart
let peace dwell here
Bring strength to live and will to fight.

Life cuts so deep
as silence steals
Sad words once spoken
soft but true
The mark they made
the scars unhealed
Bleed memories of only you.

In tortured times
your voice I hear
So distant now
with sorrow known
Lament Oh love
for touch once felt
As seeds of emptiness are sown.

Where are you now,
is peace with you
Or do you wait
in silent dread
For endless days
in dreams you live
With me in life
no longer dead.
