Tales from a Life Inbetween

The Inbetween

I’m living in the in-between
Of where I am and want to be
Needing to let go although
Uncertain of my destiny.

These arms are full of emptiness
Mere shadows now that chill my heart
Beyond them stands a future love
That tears my soul apart.

A friendship shared on life’s long road
The winding path of inner truths
Feelings held within ones heart
Bear bitterness; its only fruit.

To go to him breaks every rule
To stay a thankless task
He’d welcome me cleanse all my sins
Of nothing would he ask.

I’m living in the in-between
Of where I am and want to be
Trusting no one least myself
To set these demons free.
