Only in madness do we see the truths
That sanity chose to ignore
Only in love do we feel the warmth
That hatred froze with scorn
True beauty lies locked forever within
The ugliest of thoughts
Such things that make us human learnt
In lessons painful taught.
From despair springs hope of eternal peace
As in weakness we find strength
In darkness shines eternal light
Born from days of loneliness spent
In strangers friends once lost are found
From all corners of your world
From the rotting flesh of bitterness
Self-knowledge will unfurl.
