My Universal

I swallowed the universe today,
The day it took my life away,
Choked on the air that left me grieving
It wasn’t meant to be this way.

Sailed far across the milky sky,
Cried as the stars refused to shine
Whispered my secrets moonlight bleeding,
Then followed you no longer dreaming

Drunken, dreamy Friday nights
When we laughed and talked all night
Jimmy joined us for a song
and everybody sang along

Windswept, lazy ice cream days
Smiling sunshine, purple haze
Wasted dreams full of “If only’s”
 Oh yeah, yeah, yeah if only

I swallowed the universe today
The day it took my life away,
Drowned in the ocean darkness creeping
and lost myself along the way.

Exit on A Daydream

Come take my hand and I’ll take you to places we’ve been before
Kicking up leaves while the daydreams like clouds drift on evermore
Dancing in rain as the rainbows awaken a sleepy moor

Just like we did before.

Postcards told stories we drowned in the glory of days gone by
Mind playing games recollections remain in life’s hazy sky
Rose-tinted worlds where we fly living lies as the silence soars

Those were the days before

Walking the pavements of life while the cracks swallow you and me

Climbing the walls as we race through the halls of our memory
Dusty misused as the doors closed before set the screaming free
Battered and bruised the abused fall through cracks lost for evermore

Farewell For Now

She held your hand,

You sighed

You spoke his name.

We cried

Yet through it all

You remained true

To who you were

The you he knew and loved.

The memories won’t fade

We’ll laugh

At times gone by

and passed

And through it all we’ll stay true

To who you were,

The you he knew and loved.

Life at times was cruel,

The darkest hours,

You saw them through.

But now the time,

Has come for peace,

A luxury in life,

You never knew.

Time has been unkind

Farewell for now

I hope you find

The ones you lost so long ago

The ones whose memories we hold

Within our hearts

For with them you dwell now.

I crossed the street today,

I saw you come my way,

I had nothing to say,

Not today.

 

You saw me standing there,

Holding her hand,

She had no idea,

Of the games you played,

That you play.

  

Why do you haunt me when I

Let you go, such a long, long time ago,

  

Why do you taunt me with the

Memories of a love I’ll never know.

 

Time is not on your side,

Why do you try to hide ,

From the hurt inside.

Your foolish pride.
